DIY Flower Wreath for Spring
This gorgeous flower wreath for spring is exactly what every front door needs after a long gloomy winter! Make your home feel ready for spring with this pink and yellow floral wreath that boasts the most beautiful collection of ranunculus, plumeria, carnations, and daisies! Get creative and mix and match spring flowers to make the perfect flower wreath for your home!
I say this a lot, but the pictures do not do this wreath justice!
I absolutely love this spring wreath, the vibrant colors of the flowers, no ribbon or bows to distract from the beautiful flowers, it makes me so happy every time I walk in my front door! I know, I know, every wreath I make makes me feel this way which is why it is totally worth making a new one every season!
Making your own wreath is one of the instant gratification projects I need sometimes! Lol! I sit down for an hour or two and have a gorgeous wreath to hang on the door when I am done, it is hard when working on room makeovers or renovations because as slow as I work, there is definitely not anything instant about seeing results so I enjoy throwing a wreath or craft into the mix to keep me motivated!
If you enjoy making wreaths as much as I do, you may want to check out these other spring wreaths I have made, DIY Spring Wreath, DIY Hydrangea Wreath, or you may want save one of these fall or Christmas wreaths for later in the year! Gathering Supplies for the Spring Flower Wreath
Now, I did spend quite a bit more on this wreath than I normally would, but the wreath I was inspired by was 400 dollars…yes, a wreath to hang on your door…400 dollars!😳 I mean I know I’m cheap but that just seems insane to spend on a wreath, no offense if you have a 400 dollar wreath on your door, we can still be friends…if you don’t mind having a broke, cheap friend! 🤣
Anyway, I only spent 75 bucks to make this beauty! Yeah, less than 1/4 of my inspiration wreath! But I really like to keep my wreaths around 30 bucks when I make them because I don’t usually keep them from year to year, but this baby will be used for a couple years!
Materials for the Flower Wreath
All my flowers were purchased at Hobby Lobby while they were on sale 1/2 off! Don’t buy them when they are full price, if they aren’t on sale when you are in store, the next week they will be so just wait! The links are not affiliate links!
If you like the flowers but don’t want to spend 75 bucks, check your Dollar Tree, online they show so many flower options and they look pretty good too in the photos! I have not seen them in real life to know the exact quality but now I’m tempted to go check them out and make a flower wreath only from Dollar Tree flowers! Lol!

Making the DIY Flower Wreath for Spring
This spring wreath is not hard to make and it can be customized and personalized to your preference! I love the colors and combination of flowers but if you prefer different flowers or colors, you can easily change them out for your favorite variety! Gather all your supplies and lay them out!
I reused my grapevine wreath form from another wreath! The wreath forms last forever and since I just use hot glue, you can pull everything off of the old one! Lol! Plus it is being completely covered with flowers so no one will ever see the leftovers of the previous wreath!😏
I did clean it up more though! Lol! I pulled the old leaves off and the gobs of hot glue!
Identifying the Flowers Used on the Wreath
I’ll give a quick run down of the flowers so you know which are which on the flower wreath!
Pink Ranunculus Bush
Pink Cosmo Bush
Double Ruffle Bush
Peach Mini Phalaenopsis
Pink Tea Roses
Ficus Branch
Flame Orange Carnation – these are my favorite flowers on the whole wreath, they look so real!
Yellow Ranunculus Picks
Dark Pink Plumeria Flower Stem
Peach Oval Bead Picks
Attaching the Flowers to the Wreath
Alright, now that you know which flowers are which, we can start figuring out the layout of the flowers! I always play around with the layout for a little bit, then start somewhere and attach a few flowers, then play with the layout a little more! Lol!
Once I had played with the layout, I cut all my flowers off the stems so I could see how many I had of each!
Then I could start placing the flowers! I know some people use floral wire, but with grapevine wreaths, I find hot glue works great and allows them to easily be placed without too much movement!
Once I had most of my flowers cut from their bunches, I started at the bottom of the wreath form and attached the plumeria flower! I had to cut the flower completely apart though or else it stuck up way to high on the wreath. I tried to pay attention to how they were before I cut them apart to place them in the wreath the same way they were before cutting them!
Once I had it cut apart, I glued it into the wreath as close as I could to before I cut it up!
Once I had the plumeria flower in place, I added some of the double ruffle flowers, I would keep the two layers together that came off of each stem to make them fuller!
I filled in the space behind the plumeria with the double ruffle!
I’m sorry, the angle of this video that I took these pictures from doesn’t show everything very well! I apologize, I thought it did! Lol!
Once I filled the area behind the plumeria with double ruffle, I added some ficus leaves around the plumeria off to the sides! The ficus leaves come off in these perfect little sets that are just the right size for the wreath!
Now it’s time to add the carnations, one on each side of the plumeria!
The top flowers in the picture above were just sitting there, they are not attached, again, I was just playing around with layout!
Once I had the lower carnations added, I played around a little with options of going up the rest of the wreath, and decided on placing the last carnation I had at the top! The cosmo flowers didn’t get placed there though!
I moved the side flowers (pink and yellow ranunculus) around a bit and liked them up a little higher on the wreath! On the pink ranunculus bush there were sets of a large and small flower together, I kept them together and added a set on each side of the top carnation!
Once I had the top pink ranunculus in place, I added a little bit of filler flowers around them, some of the double ruffles and I turned them upside down and placed them kinda hanging down!
I also added a few of the tea roses up here as well! That is what really makes the wreath so pretty is all the depth of the different sizes and shapes of the flowers! If you have just one type of flower, it just doesn’t have the same visual effect!
I wish the photos were clearer and I apologize that they aren’t! Ugh it is frustrating sometimes! I used a finished wreath photo so you can see the tea roses! The lighter pink roses at the top are the tea roses!
Alright back to the step by step pictures!
I ended up removing the yellow and pink ranunculus along the sides, and covered the remainder of the wreath form with the ficus leaves so I would have the leaves showing both on the inside and outside of the wreath!
Once I had the ficus leaves along the sides, I could then just fill it all in with flowers! I did place the pink and yellow ranunculus back where I had them! Then just added all the pink ranunculus that I had left from the bunch!
I just kept adding the same flowers to both sides until I loved the look and it was full enough!
Then guess what, my phone died! Lol! So the last few parts of the video I didn’t even get! But here is a finished shot of the flower wreath so you can see where all the flowers ended up on the sides! Basically once all the large flowers were in place, I stuck the filler flowers (double ruffle, cosmos, phalaenopsis, and peach beads) in anywhere I needed something to make it look full and balanced!
Oh it is such a beautiful wreath! I am telling you this DIY flower wreath is the most beautiful wreath in person! Just make yourself one, you will not be upset that you did! Make you a spring summer wreath to help me usher in the warmer weather and longer days!
